The aim of the Riding Club Movement is to encourage riding as a sport and recreation, and to improve and maintain the standard of riding and horsemanship, also to organise instructional meetings, lectures and competitive events.

What do we do?

Severn Vale draws its membership from the North Bristol/South Gloucestershire area. The club offers a programme of instructional rallies with recognised instructors who are able to teach at both beginner and advanced levels. We also run a series of Members Shows through the year which provide a good opportunity to start out competing without too much pressure. There are also occasional talks, trips or demonstrations. The club's Open Shows have also proved popular in the area. While members' shows and rallies always cater for the most novice of our riders, the more competitive members can represent the club at Area and National Competitions.

We are always delighted to welcome new members, and as a member you will receive regular copies of “Hoofprint,” the club newsletter, with details of the club programme. You can then start booking on to rallies, or attending shows as a competitor or helper (both are always needed). Notes on booking rallies, and dress for events on the next page, but if you aren't sure about anything, or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact a committee member to ask – that's what we are there for.

We want you to get as much as possible from your membership, so if there is something you would like that isn't on the programme, let us know, and we will try to offer it (no promises, but we'll do our best).
